"Pluribus (Apple TV+)"

For my second media blog, I am choosing to write about a TV show that I just started watching very recently, and in truth, I am only on episode four, so this will be a very naive essay about a show that may or may not be as good or bad as I will describe it. I am choosing to write about it still because I find the premise fascinating, and I think there's something special about writing a piece like this prior to finishing something so I can come back and read it later to either feel nostalgic about when I didn't know it all, or to come back and remember when it was better not to know what happens when I still had hope for this show. I don't know yet, but that's what is fun about this! This show is called "Pluribus." It is a series on Apple TV+ and to avoid spoilers I will not be looking anything up about it beyond what I know. This show came out recently, and I have been told by my friends and my family to watch it because they swore I would like it. Well, ...

Promotional Imagery Courtesy of CBS/Survivor `      It's no secret that Survivor is one of the most popular reality television shows to hit our screens, and if you think that's a baseless claim, I would probably say you've never seen the show, or know little about it! The proof is in the pudding folks, Survivor first aired on May 31, 2000. That was almost twenty-six years ago! It is the longest running reality TV show behind Cops, and The Challenge. First Blog - Media and Society

My name is Ethan Sparks, I am currently 24, a United States Army Veteran, and I am studying psychology at LBCC. My goal here at Linn-Benton is to complete all of my first and second year requirements, transfer to Oregon State, and then to get my bachelors in psychology. Once I obtain my bachelors, I will either pursue a masters or move straight into a doctorate's program if possible. The goal with doing that would be to become a behavioral neuroscientist, as I am passionate about science and would love to dedicate my life to helping others. If not that, I would move into the realm of therapy/counseling!  I am usually into current events, and staying informed, but in today's world information can be hard to decipher, and to even know whether or not its real. This class stuck out to me because it seemed like a valuable class to take given the circumstances we find ourselves in, in the modern day. I believe media literacy and freedom of press is important to a healthy soc...
